About |
Me, I am the Sunday driver of the family. Taking it easy is something I have mastered - I am quite the opposite to my very athletic, outdoorsy family. I needed to get with the program or get left behind. Enter birding. Though far from an expert, it was a whim that turned into a hobby that turned into a way of life. Birding was the perfect fit for me and has become a family affair.
Though not The Big Year, we are a pretty competitive family. When spring rolls around we all help with the yard cleanup, prepping the garden, repairing feeders and houses. We keep a journal, field guide and binoculars near the back deck to capture anything new and observe old friends. In the car we keep an older field guide, small notebook and monocular (plus letterbox and geocache materials) …just in case. No one wants to miss an opportunity to one-up the other.
With The Yankee Birder we hope to share our adventures, knowledge that we gain and admiration for our feathered friends.
